Play Pack

So the new neighborhood has tons of activities; actually, they have daily activities.  It is part of the reason why we wanted to move to this neighborhood.  In the Manor House there is a huge kids play room.  It is fully equipped with tons of toys, a mini fridge, a tv, cd player, tables, train mats, dress up clothes, books, and anything else that you could want for play time.  It is open to the residents all day every day.  On Friday mornings, they have what the call Kids Corner Play Pack, which is supposed to be a set time for a play group.   What a great idea!  I figured I go, meet other SAHMs and Will could make some friends and enjoy socializing.  So we’ve been so busy moving that Will and I haven’t made it up there yet, until mid-December.  I loaded Will up in the stroller, and we rushed to make sure we were there on time.  To our surprise, the play pack turned out to be a pack of 1, Will.  😦  There was no one else there.  What a disappointment.  I didn’t get myself and Will dressed to walk up there and turn around and come home, so I pulled Will out of the stroller and let him play.  He had a blast!  He ran to a set of toy boxes and went to town.  He played kitchen with the fake food . . . any surprise that he played with the food??  🙂  Then he found cars and trains.  He sat at the table and play trains, food, and cars for as long as I let him.  He even figured out how to get in the chair himself.  He was having so much fun.  When I pulled out the stroller to head home, he took off running away because he didn’t want to leave.  I had to put him in the stroller with his spatula and fake steak and then take them away after he was buckled in.  It really is a shame that no other kids were there because he would have loved to play with others, but he had fun anyway.  We won’t be discouraged . . . we’ll be back. 😉
