Central Park = AWESOME

What can I say about Central Park other than it is awesome?!  The south end was about a mile from our hotel, so Will and I spent 2 days exploring the park.  Right at the south entrance was an enormous playground.  We stayed in the little kid section and made lots of friends.  Everyone there was super friendly and shared their sand toys with Will.  He went down the slides, dug in the sand, ran all over, climbed on the ropes, and rode the swings.  Literally, we spent hours there.  The rest of the time, we explored the park.  It was beautiful!  You didn’t know that you were standing in the middle of the city when you were inside the park.  We watched ice skaters at 2 different rinks within the park, we saw several brides taking pictures, we watched boaters on the lake, we walked on miles of trails, we watched lots of runners and bikers (Will even stretched with one runner), we went to a couple different playgrounds, we saw countless carriage rides, we went to the zoo (yes, a whole zoo inside of central park!), and we ate at several food carts (Nuts 4 Nuts has the best candy coated almonds!)  Seriously, I could have spent all day every day of the trip inside of Central Park and NEVER have gotten bored or felt like I was doing the same thing.  Just outside of the park is FAO Swartz, so we even made a trip there and played on the giant piano from the movie Big.   The zoo was pretty good; I mean, I’ve seen better zoos, after all, I am from just outside of DC.  🙂  But, they also had a Children’s Zoo, that was unmatched for Will!  I let him out of the stroller and he ran from animal to animal, and played with all of the toys.  He had a blast.  It may have been my favorite thing because he had so much fun!  He would just squeal with excitement as he ran from place to place.

He would climb on the bottom of the slide, walk up as high as he could then sit down and scoot himself down the slide. :)

Another play ground next to the museum of modern art. It was a super cool back drop. Will played with 2 of the nicest little boys. They were so kind to him and really tried to help him maneuver the park.

Enjoying the view
