The Great Pumpkin

We made sure to carve out some time from our busy schedule to make it to a pumpkin patch.  Last year, we were in DC and went to Pumpkinville with Beth, Peyton, and Connor.  It was a BLAST!!  I think I had as much fun as the kids.  🙂  This year we were in Charlotte, so we headed to Hodges Farm.  I must say it was a total disappointment.  There was only one little bounce house, a few animals, two hay stacks that was called a fort, and then the pumpkin vines.  Although I was disappointed, it was all Will needed as he is still too young to understand and do a lot of the things.  He had a blast running around the vines.  He picked up pumpkins, kicked them, and tried to bounce them like his balls.  His favorite part of the pumpkins was their stems.  He was analyzing all of the stems.  He climbed fences, tried to touch the animals, tried to steal other people’s wagons, ate the hay, and bounce around the house.  We thought that Will might be too young to go in the bounce house, but after watching for a few minutes, I decided to let him try.  I shoved him in there, and he took over.  It was difficult for him to walk, but he just sat down and let the other kids bounce him around.  He seemed to have a lot of fun in there.  Periodically, he would come to the edge to make sure that Jim and I were still around, but overall he did much better than at Layla’s birthday party.  He really did have a great time.  Next year, when he’s bigger, we’ll go to a bigger pumpkin patch.

He stuck his whole arm in the cage. We were afraid that the goat would try to bite his little fingers.
