Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach is quickly becoming another favorite of ours.  It is only about a 3.5-3.75 hour drive from our house, it is never crowded, and we have a resort that we like there.  Certainly, it is not the most luxurious beach, but for close and cheap, it is great.  🙂  Will had such a great time while we were there.  He is quickly taking after his parents and LOVES the beach.  He plays in the water, climbs on the beach chair, runs in the sand, picks up shells, seaweed, and other random trash.  He points at all of the birds and airplanes, and even tries to steal other kids’ toys.  🙂  He did pretty well this trip with sleeping.  After how horrible he did in July with all of our trips, I was somewhat dreading the nights.  He pretty much followed the same routine as home, up around 6 or 7 for a quick feeding and then back down until 8:30 or 9.  We were all happier for it.  🙂  We spent the mornings on the balcony overlooking the pond and golf course watching the ducks, geese, and turtles.  We spent the time in between his 2 naps at the pool and spent the time after his 2nd nap at the beach.  And came home for a very late dinner and quick trip back to the pool before heading to bed around 10 . . . for Will.  It was a great week.  🙂

Will was watching the geese on the porch.

Pointing to either a plane or a bird.

Fun climbing on the beach chair.

Watching the waves.

Trying to fight the tide coming in.

Love his little feet.

We spent much of the trip chasing after him. 🙂

It was much harder for him to run in the loose sand.

We tried to build a sand castle.

After a wave came in, our hole filled back up . . . with Will in it.

He loved finding shells.  After the hurricane blew past, there were a lot of shells out there.

I love his wind-blown hair!

Will found Jim’s belly button!  He loves to put his finger in it, and Jim can’t stand to have his belly button touched.  I think it is hilarious! 🙂

Just hanging out!
