Hilton Head Island

Every summer we try to make a trip to our favorite local beach, Hilton Head.  (local = driving distance)  We love it there; we even own a time share on the island.  This year, we planned our trip around Will’s birthday.  We decided not to have a party for him since he doesn’t know the difference and with our house on the market, it is just so difficult to plan anything, especially at our house.  What if we got a call for a showing in the middle of the party?  So we just didn’t think it was a good idea.  Plus, who doesn’t want to celebrate their birthday at the beach?!?  Sunday, we headed down to HHI in the morning and spent the whole day at the beach. It was a great day!  This time, Will immediately LOVED it!  He didn’t eat quite as much sand as he did in Wilmington.  We took a beach chair for us to hang out in, but Will quickly claimed it as his own.  It was by far his favorite toy.  He loved to climb all over it.  He had a great time playing in the sand and having the water rush up over his legs.  Jim and I were pleasantly surprised at how much we actually got to relax.  🙂

Will was hanging out in the tent while Jim and I finished setting everything up.

He couldn’t wait to grab a handful of sand!

Will LOVED it!

Will and daddy were playing.

He spent HOURS playing on the chair.

Will and I were hanging out in the water after the tide started coming in on our play spot.

Will loved the squishy sand.

He figured out that he could walk easily on the hard sand.

What a great day!
