1 year, 2 weeks

Will is 54 weeks old.  I’m still trying to get used to the fact that he is officially a toddler and no longer a baby or an infant.  This week, he has really started making different sounds.   Still no words, but instead of just “ba ba ba ba,” he now says a variety of different sounds.  He also makes a sound after we name something.   For example, he’ll point to the fan, and we’ll say, “fan,” and then he’ll say, “heh.”  So he is trying to repeat the words even if he isn’t quite there yet.  We have also taken baby proofing to a whole new level this week.  Since we are moving, we just went ahead and moved out most of the furniture and plants that Will was very intrigued by.  Now we just keep the bedroom and bathroom doors closed, and then he has free reign of everything else. He loves it!!  He’s become a good independent player again.  He would get bored in the small space we kept him in and not only get into mischief, but also become clingy.  Now he just walks all over and plays with his toys, or the curtains.  He is such a big boy!
