Grand Canyon

On our last trip to the southwest, we went to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon.  This time we headed to the South Rim.  No matter where you go, it is hard not to be in awe every time.  We were psyched to get to hike down into the canyon this time.  Unfortunately, the trail was extremely icy.  We started down, but watched several people with clamp-ons and ski poles slip and fall on the same section up ahead.  When we reached that section, we were sure to be extra careful.  I still slid all over the place.  We moved to the side to let another couple by that was heading back up.  They told us that this icy area was nothing compared to how bad the trail got a little further down.  We decided to “think safety first” and head back up the trail.  We went back to the car and switched to the stroller, and walked along the paved rim trail instead.  It was beautiful!

Will liked watching the donkeys walk past us. Too bad they stunk!

This is as far as we made it. :(

Will didn't want to fall down the hole, so he was glad that we turned back!

It was still fun climbing around the rim.
