Yummy!

Will has finally started vegetables!  I was waiting until we got back from vacation to start since I am making all of his food.  I didn’t want to have to figure out storing my frozen cubes of food while we were gone.

Will’s first veggies were summer squash (a mixture of yellow and zucchini).  Dee-Dee gave him his first bites.  As you can see from the pictures, Will wasn’t so sure about it.

First bites . . . not so sure!

He doesn't think that he likes it, but mom is making him eat his veggies.

So day 2 of summer squash, we decided to heat it up a little bit and then mix it with his rice cereal.  The bland taste of the rice cereal mixed in helped cut the strong flavor of the squash.  Will approved!

First bite of the new mixture . . . Will was apprehensive . . .

We have to wait 4 days before introducing new foods to make sure that Will doesn’t have an allergy to the food he is eating.  Days 3 and 4 went well with the squash, so Monday Will also ate some sweet potatoes.  We tried them plain since their flavor is more palatable.  Will like them right off the bat.  After his helping of squash and sweet potatoes, Will played with his spoon trying to get the last little bit.

He wanted to make sure that there was none left over.

Look mom, all done!
