Sugar Mountain

Team Walton decided to take a vacation to Sugar Mountain.  The intention was originally to head up to the mountains to see the leaves changing colors.  Unfortunately, we were doing too much other traveling during October, which is the peak time to see the leaves, but we decided to make the trip anyway.  We had our honeymoon and one year anniversary up in Boone, so we’ve been here before, but this trip was much cooler.  We arrived Friday to 19 degree weather!  Will did not sleep well the entire time we were there, but he slept in every morning until almost noon.  He is his mother’s child.  🙂  Saturday morning, sleeping in did us all some good, but we missed out on the Christmas parade in downtown Boone.  😦  Later in the day, we explored the grounds of the condo where we were staying and headed over to the pool.  Sunday consisted of freezing rain and sleet, so we did what we do best on Sundays . . . hung out and watched football all day!  We only left the condo to head over to the pool again.  Monday we ventured out to Grandfather Mountain and then in to down town Banner Elk.  We attended a wine and cheese social and grabbed dinner from a local Italian restaurant.  Will did really well for only napping in the Bjorn all day.  Tuesday was another poor weather day, we went to the pool and the front desk brought us a bottle of wine and a plate of cheese.  What a great day!  Wednesday was a trip to Blowing Rock.  We headed home before the impending snow on Friday.  We had a terrific time on vacation!  What a nice relaxing trip!
